Wound Care and Telemedicine

The COVID-19 pandemic presents an “unprecedented time” internationally. In this time of uncertainty, Telemedicine is a valuable resource to provide quality wound care for bed bound patients, nursing home patients, hospice patients, and patients who wish to remain in their home. There are several implications for wound care surgeons and professionals based on their clinical expertise to provide Telewound care services. Wound care health professionals should be prepared for unique circumstances on the other side of COVID-19. Using telemedicine for wound care services patients can avoid the emergency room, urgent care, and physicians offices, which cause unnecessary potential virus exposure. Telewound care is the painless; simply respond to a link sent to the patient who will be in contact with a board certified wound care provider. Telewound care with the future of now!
